Here's a little known, rare gem of wisdom for artists: (actually I'm sure it's well known, but not to me )

Never, ever, I mean ever, eat at the drawing table. I thought I was safe eating some oatmeal at my drawing desk with my illustration neatly tucked away in a folder. When it was time to go and hand over the finished product to the client, something very exciting happened. Apparently small chunks of oatmeal fell on my scrap paper, then that scrap paper went into my illustration folder. But! I didn't find out until I reached my destination and pulled the art out for one more look-over.
GAH!
Oatmeal specks right next to the head of the portrait. GAH! I almost flipped out, but a little moisture, some tissue and some more graphite sorta helped. The client didn't notice, but of course her friend did, "Hey, it looks like a little smudge here."

Overall, really really not-cool.
So, no eating and drawing!
